   David Kahaner, author of the Asian Science and Techhnology Reports on
the network made an interesting commment re HDTV. He felt that Americans
believe that by creating an all digital HDTv can outreach the Japanese and
they will loose control of the TV market. David was amased that most
Amercians dont realize that Japanese have their own digital HDTV research
and intend to position themselves to be adaptable no mater what gets used.
Meanwhile they are creating the framework , chasises, tubes etc in a mass
market
