FTC SAFEGUARDS ELECTRONIC SHOPPING. The FTC has extended the same
safeguards to consumers who shop electronically as those who order by
mail. Under the 1975 Mail Order Rule, merchandise must be shipped
within 30 days, and consumers have the option of canceling late
orders. These same rules will now apply to sales via telephone, fax
