Subject: thought from the net
Date: Tue, 28 Sep 1993 14:02:41 PDT Subject: From the Net To: farber@central.cis.upenn.edu Dave Great thoughts from the net Jim *********************************** Jim, Won't it appear a bit ironic that by the year 2001, the US government will have imprisoned thousands of its own citizens for sending encrypted messages around to each other and all under the guise that they are "enemies" of the State? To encrypt or not to encrypt, that will be the fundamental battle cry of the First Amendment of the approaching 21st Century's Digital Bill of Rights. And to think we won the Cold War to protect ourselves from the evil tyranny of a socialist police-state. At the rate we're going, we're locking up so many of our own citizens that we'll have invested more in bricks and mortar as to build a thousand-times as many Berlin Walls.
