Yesterday I gave a keynote address to the forum on the US infrastucture
experiments and talked about both the "National Backplane" and the
International Information Infrastucture ideas that Radu and I have been
thinking about.


Both were very well received including the idea of a computer cycle untility.
The technical part of the Forum has focused on optical switching and PCS.


Prof Hoare gave an interesting special talk on Software  Barriers on the
Frontier. (he kept referencing my comments on the protocol stack problems
at very high speeds).
