bit more on Inman -- Inman Blames Safire for Withdraw

For those of you that missed it,  Inman placed most of the blame on NYT
columnist Safire for his withdraw and accused him among other things of
him and Senate Minority Leader Bob Dole engaging in a conspiracy to
oppose him. He later admitted that he thought that he would have still
been accepted by over 90 votes and that he was unable to confirm the
opposition with any Senators.  He also claimed that several newspapers
had supressed letters against Safire's and other columnists but then said
that the press  covereage had been very fair  to him.
