H.R. 3636 and 3626 Pass the House (fwd) [ odds being quoted for the senate are currently 40/60 again

A quick update -- we will have more info (including a press release) shortly


The House of Representatives has passed both H.R. 3636 and 3626.  H.R. 3636
(The Markey/Fields bill)contains EFF's Open Platform Proposal.


H.R. 3626 passed on a vote of 423 to 5 (7 not voting).


H.R 3636 passed on a vote of 423 to 4 (8 not voting).


No amendments were offered to either bill on the Floor.


After the votes, the bills were ordered to be combined into one bill, which
will be sent to the Senate.  The Senate is currently considering its own
similar legislation.
