Pacific Bell SMDS pricing , I thought this was a worthwhile data

This is what we got quoted for all SMDS speeds recently:




                1.17 Mbps: $600/month, $375 install
                        plus local loop ($162.50).


                DS-3's: $4800 install for all speeds.


                4Mbps: $3500/month


                10 Mbps: $4500/month


                16 Mbps: $5000/month


                25 Mbps: $5500/month


                34 Mbps: $6000/month


                multicasting addressing: $10/month, $25 install.


                two tariffs for ds-3 local loops:


                        128 tariff: 1, 3 or 5 year contract.


                        1, 3 year: $3500 install
                        1 year w/terminal equipment:    $2500/month
                        w/out terminal equipment:       $1650/month


                        3 year w/terminal equip:        $2000/month
                        3 year w/out terminal equip:    $1350/month


                        5 year: $4500 install


                        5 year w/terminal equi:         $1800/month
                        5 year w/out terminal equip:    $1180/month


                175 tariff: $200/month more per month in all categories.
                        $1000 less to install.


                terminations: w/equip means that pacbell provides the
                        photonics to convert the optical to the electrical.


                w/out: fiber termination point (ftp) with s/t connectors.
                        disadvantage is that pacbell can't do any remote
                        loopback testing.  FOT's run around $6000-$10000.
