In fact the Net'Strike seemed to have minimal affects on French national
networks, although the real point is that these type of attacks, now in
their infancy, will likely grow in both sophistication and frequency. It
is therefore incumbant upon government and military planners to not only
devise a counter-stratgey, but to publize it - much the way we publize
what potential actions will take against terrorist (when their identies
are discovered) in order to inhibit the utility of these cyberprotest.
Also, to clairfy one point (I am sure Mr. Sterling would not mind this
repost) but, he categorically denies any participation in this protest.

I would like to take this opportunity to formally deny this reckless
allegation by Strano Network that I "took part" in their strike against
French network servers. I did join the Strano Network NetStrike mailing
list, because I believe their activities bear watching. I have spread
their information widely, because I believe people should know what
Strano Network are doing. However, I did not, and will not, take part
in an effort to deny service to Internet users, in France or elsewhere.
At no time did Strano Network seek my permission to use my name in
support of their activities.
