IP: PCS and Washington DC

I just understood in a flash of inspiration why Sprint put in GMS 1900 in DC
rather than one of the other PCS systems. I suspect it has less to do with
superior technology and much more to do with the fact that their PCS and the
European GSM 1900 are compatible. Soon there will be dual mode telephones
all over Europe and other GSM countries and then  every foreign visitor to
DC will be able to put in a Sprint simcard and away they go. Big advantage
in the DC market
