V CHIP FOR PC?


Further down the rack next week, TIME magazine is first to report that the
FCC has proposed that new PCs be outfitted with a V chip to filter out
violence, hate talk and sex.  The magazine quotes FCC chair Reed Hundt who
says the high-tech industry can "be part of the process" as the agency sets
the rules.  Showdown.
