Subject: IP: Domains: what's next?
Date: Wed, 6 May 1998 18:17:58 +0900 To: apple@apnic.net From: ajp@glocom.ac.jp (Adam Peake) TechWeb reports that the US Govt's final paper on domains will be released next week. http://www.techweb.com/wire/story/domnam/TWB19980505S0008 What happens after this paper is released? Should the US Congress in some way endorse (comment on, whatever) the paper's recommendations before they can be implemented? Or can Ira Magaziner and Administration implement the plan without any further input? Grateful for any answers on this. Other stuff: GLOCOM arranged a meeting with Ira Magaziner when he visited Tokyo in March, I took notes of the meeting, they're online at http://www.glocom.ac.jp/personnel/ajp/mag-mtg.html Little dated, but quite informative article "Raiders of the Last Ark" (the "A" root server is the Ark), at http://www.newhavenadvocate.com/articles/raiders.html Thanks, Adam Adam Peake GLOCOM Tokyo * APPLe: To unsubscribe, send "unsubscribe" to apple-request@apnic.net *
