X-Sender: brock@mail.well.com Date: Sun, 20 Sep 1998 12:26:38 -0500 To: farber@cis.upenn.edu From: Brock Meeks <brock@well.com> Subject: FW: MSNBC.COM and the Clinton Testimony Dave, Sorry for the confusion, but obviously your first note is correct. You are right to question this "sea change" in handling information on the Net. It appears that cable is going with only "warnings" but that our editor in chief will have his finger on the 'seven second delay" button. Very strange. I wasn't in on the dicussions surrounding this, but I'll be asking questions. See a statement from our Editor-in-Chief below: <http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/980918/ny_wa_msnb_1.html TARGET="_blank">http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/980918/ny_wa_msnb_1.html > >Friday September 18, 2:39 pm Eastern Time Company Press Release SOURCE: >MSNBC Statement from MSNBC.COM Editor in Chief Merrill Brown Regarding >Coverage Plans For President Clinton's Testimony Video: > >REDMOND, Wash., Sept. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- ``When Congress releases the >video of the President's testimony, MSNBC on the Internet plans to stream >it live on its Web site with a slight delay in order to edit any >inappropriate material.
