Subject: IP: New from Sony
To: David Farber <farber@cis.upenn.edu> From: ajp@glocom.ac.jp (Adam Peake) Subject: New from Sony Dave, new from Sony Vaio range, a sub B5 notebook the PCG-C1. <http://www.sony.co.jp/ProductsPark/Consumer/PCOM/PCG-C1CAT/top.html> 233MHz, 64MB SDRAM, 3.2GB hard disc, 56Kbps modem, built-in "Motion Eye" digital camera, Windows98. The display is the same quality as larger Vaio notebooks (XGA.TFT, 1024x480.) Picture to give an idea of the size at URL <http://www.sony.co.jp/ProductsPark/Consumer/PCOM/PCG-C1CAT/Image/intro_3.gif> Cost (without accessories - CD-ROM, AC Power, long life battery, etc.) is yen 229,800 (approx. $1700) very nice. You will want one! Motion eye is a nice gimmick. Simple digital camera with good Sony software for capture, storage, etc. (the Vaio range is designed to integrate with other Sony audio/visual products) and also reads pre-set instructions from "Cyber Code" cards.
