Senator Leahy was the lone dissent although Senator Burns spoke out against the amendment. An amendment from Senator Dodd was also added which would force ISPs to provide filtering tools to parents for free. The tax bill, which also includes children's privacy and digital signature amendments, is expected to pass today. Representative Oxley's Child Online Protection Act (H.R. 3783) is also expected to come to the floor in the House today. ------------------------------------ Ari Schwartz Policy Analyst Center for Democracy and Technology 1634 Eye Street NW, Suite 1100 Washington, DC 20006 202 637 9800 fax 202 637 0968 ari@cdt.org http://www.cdt.org ------------------------------------
