Subject: IP: "Enemy of the State"
X-Sender: fuhn@ricochet.net X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Pro Version 4.0.2 Date: Sat, 21 Nov 1998 00:00:53 -0800 To: farber@cis.upenn.edu From: Suzanne Johnson <fuhn@ricochet.net> It's a newly released movie, and worth seeing before it makes it to airplanes. Opens with a Congressman being killed by government agents because of his opposition to a "communications privacy" act. The movie goes on to give a review of just how non-private communications already have become. Well placed snips of quotes from the head of the FBI on how such legislation is needed for protection against terrorists, etc. Best of all, in the credits, there is no list of government agencies thanked for their help in producing the film. Would love to hear commentary on the accuracy of the technical contents.... _____________________________________________________________________ David Farber The Alfred Fitler Moore Professor of Telecommunication Systems University of Pennsylvania Home Page: http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~farber
