IP: FCC approves the AOL/TW merger with conditions

WASHINGTON, Jan. 11 - Clearing the final obstacle to the creation of the 
world's biggest media business, the Federal Communications Commission today 
approved the proposed merger of America Online and Time Warner after 
ordering the companies to make AOL's wildly popular instant messaging 
service compatible with Internet rivals.
