It's April 1: time for a new outlook
BY DAN GILLMOR

Mercury News Technology Columnist

What could I have been thinking?

That's how a pro-Microsoft witness, an economist, responded during the
antitrust trial when asked about contradictions between his court testimony
and earlier writings.
I find myself asking the same rhetorical question this first day of April.
And, examining the Microsoft case and a variety of other companies and
issues, it's time to confess that I'm thinking differently about all of them.
