IP: For San Francisco IPers request for recommendation

GG and I will be in the city from the 7 - 11 June and are looking for a 
charming comfortable neat small hotel or great B&B near the downtown area. 
Suggestions would be greatly welcomed. Also what are the great new places 
to eat great food not just reputation.
