Most of that is a bastardization of a classic "world according to
student bloopers" essay by Richard Lederer, who was a teacher at St.
Paul's School.  It appears in his books such as Anguished English.   I first
reprinted it myself back in 1998 (you can see the original version
at http://www.netfunny.com/rhf/jokes/88q2/12317.html ) but
Richard was very kind and willing to tolerate it as long as
attribution was added.  I later got to know him, and published his column
online for a while at ClariNet.  He's a great guy with a lot of other
great experiences.
