A press embargo is not designed to suppress dissenting views: it is a
mechanism to give all news media a level playing field. The embargoed
article is sent to all media early at the same time. Reporters then have
time to interview other (dissenting) experts and write their article. The
news media article simply cannot be published before the day the embargo
ends. The embargo date is typically the date of publication of the original
