A couple of points:

1. The hearing on my petition to inspect ICANN's records is this coming
Monday morning next at 9:30am PDT at the Los Angeles County Superior
Court, 111 N. Hill Street, Department 85 (8th floor).

2. I have put many ideas before ICANN.  These have never appeared on
ICANN's web site - ICANN has silently refused repeated requests to post my
writeups on its web site even though ICANN regularly posts similar
materials from other directors and "staff".

I have put several proposal before ICANN.  Every one was simply buried; no
discussion of these ever occurred within ICANN.  When I tried to make
motions on some of these I was blocked by arbitrary, one time rules
against doing so.

Dyson claims that I was not being reasonable.  I don't agree.  From my
point of view it was ICANN that is suffering from a lapse of reasonablity.

Here are some of matters that I proposed to ICANN (this is a partial 
list):

    - Monitoring DNS roots for performance and data integrity (so we don't 
      lose .com again without noticing the absence.  And yes, this did 
      happen.  Verisign eventually decided to do some of this on its own
      initiative and own money.)

    - IPv6 support in DNS registry registrar systems.  (If you have IPv6
      based DNS servers there is no mechanism in the ICANN system to
      register these.)

    - A whole slew of ways to enhance DNS security

      (ICANN still has not responded with concrete steps to 9/11.  My 
      proposals, offered last October, were simply ignored by ICANN.)

    - Proposals for allowing individuals who own domain names to have
      their own "constituency" in ICANN alongside those for 
      businesses, ISPs, DNS registries/registrars, and intellectual 
      property owners.

      I've never had a shortage of plans to reform ICANN.  But these 
      suggestions were constantly brushed aside by ICANN as being not 
      necessary (ICANN apparently being the best of all possible 
      institutions) or otherwise beyond the scope of discussion.

    - A concise statement of ICANN's proper role: 

        ICANN role should consist of two jobs and two jobs only:

          - Making sure that IP addresses are assigned and allocated
            on a fair and equitable basis and in conformity with
            demands of the the packet routing systems of the Internet.

          - Making sure that the ICANN/NTIA root zone is expanded on a 
            basis that is fair and equitable to everyone, that the root 
            zone file is properly maintained and disseminated, and that its
            set of root servers are operated by persons and entities that
            have the proper skills, resources, and obligations.
