Dave, There is a rather extensive analysis of the entire range of biometrics
technologies, in the specific context of their applicability for border
security, but with an enormous amount of detail that is relevant much more
generally.  I highly recommend it to IP readers interested in the details.
In the light of the gummi fingerprint failures, the very error-prone airport
face-geometry-recognition experiment, etc., there are many risks with these
technologies that must be recognized.  Caveat emptor is clearly in order.
