Subject: Possible note for IP'ers...
The BBC is running a story about the U.S. position with
respect to a proposed international anti-tobacco treaty.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/2798857.stm
"Health campaigners are demanding the US withdraw from
negotiations about an international anti-tobacco treaty."
"John Seffin, chief executive officer of the American Cancer
Society, said, "The US government is working methodically
to weaken virtually every aspect of this treaty." "
"The World Health Organization, which is sponsoring the
talks, predicts 10 million people a year will die from
smoking-related diseases by 2030."
This sure sounds to me like a "weapon of mass destruction"...
Cheers,
Ron Rivest
