Canadian homes found ahead of U.S. for high-speed Net Regulation, cable interest in service cited Canada's high-speed Internet service providers have been far more successful than their U.S. counterparts in signing up residential customers, a study to be released Monday says. According to comScore Media Metrix Canada , which measures Internet use in both countries, more than 53 per cent of Canada's 17 million Internet users use high-speed or broadband Internet service, but just 34 per cent of the 145 million U.S. Internet users use a broadband service. Analysts attributed the disparity to several factors including a different regulatory environment, lower pricing and early recognition by Canada's cable companies that high-speed service could be a lucrative business . . .
