I'm listening live to the satellite link from the Palestine Hotel in Baghdad here and... Lara Logan was doing her closing lines (over and over again) her line was initially that the city wasn't secure yet and that although people were celebrating the end of the Iraqi regime that they wouldn't want foreigners in their country for long. (I dont have the exact quote) but very much that flow. So then she got into an argument (over the satellite link that i could hear one side of) with New York via London (where the link goes) that the spin wasn't postive enough. So some choice words after about 3 different tries, it got changed to... "While the capital is not yet secure, and Iraqis may not want foreigners in their country for long, on this day Baghdad was a city with hope that the futuer would be better than the past. Lara Logan, CBS News, Baghdad" You'll probably hear that last line on the news in an hour or so... -jcp- PS: by the way she speaks fluent Arabic, she's doing it now (to someone nearby) ------ End of Forwarded Message ------------------------------------- To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
