Subject: MIT Sloan School Statistics Professor Shoots Down CAPPS II Proposal

Declan,

FYI for your subscribers:

For anyone who has not had the pleasure of taking one of Professor Arnie
Barnett's courses, please note that he is a leading expert on the
statistics of worldwide airline safety. Quoted often in the US press, he
was involved in many US interagency and industry efforts to study and
address airline safety and security long before September 11th 2001, or
even before the FAA instituted the disingenuous policy of tricking
Americans into carrying and showing IDs at airports in 1996 when no such
lawful duty exists even today.
