As much as I'm prepared to believe that the Republican Party IS out-sourcing it's mostly-automated attack-dialer telemarketing/fund-raising to cheap labor in India ... here's additional input, from discussion of this topic on another list. --jim

Bush Outsources campaign jobs to India...And you wonder where all the jobs
are going?

http://www.business-standard.com/archives/2003/jan/50310103.016.asp

In February, the Republican National Committee said the story was wrong:

<http://www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID=20030218-061324-3365r>

"The Republican National Committee, through spokesman Kevin Sheridan,
completely denies the allegation, telling UPI, 'Any report that the
Republican National Committee has hired HCL eServe -- the firm mentioned in
the original Business Standard article -- is a case of bad reporting, bad
business practices or both. The RNC has no affiliation with HCL. Any
inference to the contrary is flat out wrong. The RNC has informed both HCL
and rediff.com of the inaccuracy of this report.'"

<http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/DailyNews/TheNote_Feb6.html>

"Kevin Sheridan, spokesman for the Republican National Committee, tells
Inside the Beltway that the national party has in no way, shape or form
enlisted the Indian company to conduct fund raising in the name of Mr. Bush
or any other nationally elected Republican in Washington. 'Who are these
Republicans?' he asks. 'They are saying they are fund raising for
Republicans, but we (the RNC) don't know who these Republicans are. It's
certainly not the Republican National Committee. And I will add that we
don't appreciate the inference.'"

I wonder what the real story is?

To which, one list-member commented:

Given that the Bush people are completely denying any of this ever took
place, it would be a real coup if we could nail down the facts....
