Subject: [IP] ICANN: progress on new gTLDs

Perhaps they should be paying attention to the operations of the gTLDs that already exist: for example, a large, and growing, number of sites are simply blocking all mail which originates from domains in ".biz", because it's absolutely brimming with spammers and NeuLevel (putatively in charge of it) absolutely refuses to do anything about it. (Predictable, of course: were they to act responsibly by permanently confiscating and disabling spammer's domains, that would (a) take some work on their part and (b) cut into their profits.) A quick check of the local blocklist shows 1945 spammer-operated ".biz" domains in it as of this morning. I'm sure that's only a fraction of the real number. And this is but one example.---Rsk
