Dave,
  Dennis caught fire about this, and one of his suggestions was to write
you about an IP placement.  Although the site is a little rough, it is
improving hourly, and you can still get the flavor if not all the nuts and
bolts yet.  You should contact Greg Benson (benson@usfca.edu), one of the
prime faculty members in this, for more authoritative background and
plans.

Although it is not clear (yet?) at the site, one of the first ideas that
broke this whole thing open was to post on Craig's List to get the
1K laptops we think are needed.  Your publicity could help immensely.
