Time: 2004-04-17 18:01:19 News site: Associated PressDescription: Free speech groups have expressed concern over actions of police who seized computers owned by Voicenet Communications in Philadelphia. Prosecutors claimed that the company ran a search engine which could be used to access pictures on UseNet which included child pornography, even though Voicenet did not review the content or store any illegal content on their own servers. Lawyers said it was the first time that Pennsylvania law enforcement had seized an Internet company's equipment for "facilitating access" to illegal material even when the firm had no control over the material.
