Subject: NSF FY 2005 Appropriations Update

CRA's Computing Research Policy Blog [1] has the final
numbers for NSF's FY05 budget. Relative to FY04, $97M was
cut from Education and Human Resources, $19 million added to
Major Research Equipment, and Research and Related
Activities was cut $28M (an across-the-board -0.8%).  The
reductions are much worse, of course, when compared with the
President's budget request or with the Senate mark.
