1) This totally sux (technical term :).

2) There are ways to remove the ghost partition without reformatting  
the whole HD.

3) It still sux.

Glad I'm not a Dell customer.  (I bought a Mac, like Dr. Farber.  At  
my own expense, even though the company supplies an IBM laptop for my  
use.)
