[IP] Coursey misses the point

I have had a great deal of comments on this thread. Some supportive,  
some not. Coursey has NOT  authorized me to distribute any mail with  
answers he has made to individual notes so I think I will use my  
editors prerogative and terminate this thread unless I hear major  
objections.

If newspapers are the "first draft" of history, blogs and other forms  
of citizen journalism are history's note pad -- rapidly scribbled,  
rapidly scanned and rapidly revised. It is a quintessentially  
democratic process and very much in the spirit of the journalism's  
highest traditions, even if it annoys grumbling mossbacks like Coursey.
