Reply-To: markg@researchedge.com For IP if you wish:There’s a great recap of the Google Publisher/Library/Print projects copyright controversy in the just released SPARC Open Access Newsletter, issue #90 that can be found online athttp:// www.earlham.edu/~peters/fos/newsletter/10-02-05.htm FYI.
“Does Google Library violate copyright? The Authors Guild has sued Google for massive copyright infringement. Do the members of the Authors Guild (AG) think that Google Library will undermine sales of their books? Do they believe that Google Library will “injure” them? Or are they merely trying to enforce a rule against copying, even beneficial copying?”
Extensive legal and policy analysis accompanied by dozens of links to related articles, blogs and miscellaneous sources. Generally it’s a great free monthly newsletter on open publishing. If you’d like to subscribe yourself, visit SPARC’s home page for the Open Access Newsletter and Open Access Forum athttp://www.arl.org/sparc/soa/ index.html and follow the subscribe instructions.
