I am terrified by the idea of a rogue party being able to hack into
Internet Explorer and using it as a vehicle to launch a viral attack.

Microsoft Windows and using it as a vehicle to launch a viral attack.

And yet we do not see the French government banning Internet Explorer or
Microsoft Windows from university computers.
