At the end of 2004, this has essentially flipped with Asia-Pacific now having 37% and the Americas now with 31%. Most of the shift in Asia-Pacific has been due to very rapid Internet uptake in China. However because of their larger populations and potential for growth, the Asia-Pacific region (particularly China and India) will continue to take a larger and larger percentage of the world's Internet users. kind regards, Robert Shaw ITU Strategy and Policy Unit <http://www.itu.int/spu/> ------------------------------------- To manage your subscription, go to http://v2.listbox.com/member/?listname=ip Archives at: http://www.interesting-people.org/archives/interesting-people/
