I'd be interested to see some links to some stories of the "tragic  
results" of open WLANs. The only one I can think of is the guy who  
was arrested for sitting in front of someone's house and using their  
wireless. This obviously had no tragic results for the person whose  
wireless was left open, only to the person "caught" using it.
