this illustrates one of my continuing complaints:
if this "identity" thing is so hard to get right
in the "Real World" of human interaction,
why does anyone believe getting it right in
the alternate universe of digital surrogates
for those same humans will be any easier?

this "digital identity" thing is fundamentally a very tricky business
and anyone who asserts they have "the answer" is either
confused or out to sell you something.
