Subject: [IP] Tor servers seized in Germany
Begin forwarded message: From: "Steven M. Bellovin" <smb@cs.columbia.edu> Date: September 11, 2006 11:51:04 PM JST To: dave@farber.net Subject: Tor servers seized in Germany For IP, perhaps. According tohttp://itnomad.wordpress.com/2006/09/10/germany-crackdown-on-tor-node- operators/
some Tor servers have been seized, allegedly because they were used to view or distribute child pornography. Of course, Tor servers are just a conduit, just as the Internet itself is just a conduit. It's the anonymity service that's apparently troubling law enforcement. --Steven M.
