The main thing to remember is to ask for a provisional ballot and  
submit it. Also check with the League of Women Voters, your local  
aclu and afl-cio offices  for their suggestions on how to proceed.

difficulties:

Get your polling place at 1-866-MY-VOTE-1.
Don't forget your ID.
Not on the list? Demand a provisional ballot.
Verify the paper record if voting by machine.
Need legal help? Call 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
