The bill Senator Feinstein introduced is S. 214.  It has 4 other  
cosponsors.

It is worth noting that none of these Senators were concerned enough
last year with the indefinite US Attorney appointment provisions in
the reauthorization bill to offer any amendments removing the
provision - either in the initial reauthorization bill (H.R. 3199) or
the supplemental "civil liberties" enhancement bill (S.2271.)

Interestingly, only one of those co-sponsors, Senator Leahy of
Vermont, was even disturbed enough by the 2005 Patriot Act
Reauthorization to actually vote against it.
Sen. Feinstein and the other cosponsors voted FOR the Patriot  
reauthorization.

I'm all in favor of remedying mistakes - better late than never! - but
it is interesting that these 4 Senators are only now to remedy a bill
they voted in FAVOR of, each of them at least twice, without even
trying to amend the bill at the time.
