The Washington Post reports this morning on a lawsuit filed on behalf  
of students complaining that copies of their papers have been  
supplied to turnitin.com, and copied into that company's database for  
comparison against other papers submitted later in order to catch  
plagiarism.  Apparently it may not have occurred to turnitin -- or to  
the teaches that send the copies -- that copyright infringement  
claims can be brought againat anyone -- even those who make copies  
for socially acceptable purposes.

The case is vaguely reminiscent of the issues posed by Google Print.
