There's an interesting article in the May 7 issue of Forbes on
so-called patent trolls.  The subhead -- on an article entitled "Patent
Pirates" -- says it all: "Hedge funds and institutional investors are
financing the latest wave of IP lawsuits."  It's by no means a
comprehensive, formal study, but it does merit reading.
