Perhaps the lawyers on this list can use this as an opportunity to  
explain why and when champerty can/should be legal, when in most  
cases investing in a lawsuit has been viewed as a very bad, very bad  
thing.  It's clear that these guys are engaging in Champerty, the  
only question is whether it is a legal form of same. http://

Of course, the right-wing anarcho-libertarians who never saw a  
property-right they didn't love probably just love the concept of a  
new form of "securitized lawsuit option" - perhaps we can create a  
market on one of the commodities exchanges for Lawsuit Futures and  
Options on Lawsuit Futures.
