Dave,

One for IP potentially...

In a recent blog post, I talked about a likely future media environment - meta-convergence - in which all media companies seek to offer all kinds of media.

The short term impact of such an environment is (personally) interesting, but an issue of interest to many on this list (IMHO) are the ramifications that meta-convergence creates for emerging technology product/service providers.

As consumer-facing brands start to 'bypass' media companies, spiking and accelerating audience fragmentation, it will almost certainly force other brands/companies to follow suit. The recent launch of Apple's iPhone is a classic example of mass-media driven consumer demand - would it have been possible to achieve this level of consumer interest/demand in a meta-converged media world?

Thoughts and alternate scenarios welcome!
