it will be most interesting to see if
the OpenMoko phone can get FCC type approval.
without that, it isn't legal in the US.

cellphones are transceivers in licensed services
and *must* have FCC type approval to be imported,
offered for sale, or used. Historically, the FCC
has been utterly indifferent to wailing and lamentations
regarding these requirements.
