Begin forwarded message: From: "Jonathan B Spira" <jspira@basex.com> Date: November 16, 2007 10:59:53 PM EST To: David Farber <dave@farber.net> Subject: 60-year-old computer loses race A modern computer crunches data much faster than a 60-year-old one. The 60-year-old computer in this race may have been the first computer ever built. The BBC reported that scientists in England recently completed a 14-year effort to restore Colossus, the computer that broke the codes the Germans used during the Second World War.
