Dave, a friend of mine who also works in security was complaining about
a post I made on IP today containing a NYT link via TinyURL. I use
TinyURL as a courtesy to avoid extremely long links that will break for
many people. However, i recognize that TinyURL could be used to
obfuscate a link to a malevolent Web page. You can minimize this risk by
going to the TinyURL Web site:

http://tinyurl.com/preview.php

and enabling the preview function (you'll have to accept a cookie). In
the future, clicking on any TinyURL link will take you this page where
you can inspect the actual URL and decide if you want to proceed.

This is a new feature of TinyURL, created in response to obfuscation
problem.
