Subject: [IP] Grand Challenges in Engineering

Academy of Engineering has released their Grand Challenges for Engineering. http://www.engineeringchallenges.org/cms/8996/9221.aspx It's interesting how so many of these relate to societal issues. In addition, I think some may be "processes" more than "products", e.g., securing cyberspace. I am dreaming of coming up with similar similar "grand challenges" for ICT and development(ICTD), and area where I do a lot of work. This would be a herculean, global effort, given its interdisciplinary, nebulous, and ever-changing nature.
