bits/second are not like other "commodities" - you can't move excess
capacity in Nebraska to NYC help with cross-town loads. likewise,
the bit you don't use this instant is *gone* - you cannot save them up
and use them later, unlike "voice-minutes", the commodity they believe
they understand best.

economically viable price models for Internet service already exist
and are known to be profitable. watching these newbies pursue their
divine right to re-invent flat tires is particularly depressing.
